Sal Gonzalez joined the United States Marine Corps on October 21, 2003. When serving in Ramadi, Iraq, Sal was hit by an improvised explosive device (IED) and had his left leg amputated as a result. Today, Sal is involved in the Wounded Warrior Project as a spokesperson and continues his focus on music. His talent has garnered him an appearance on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” and the TV show “Nashville” and has recently performed with country music start Keith Urban.
